WORK PROCESS AND CARE PRODUCTION IN THE HEALTH FAMILY STRATEGY: NURSES’ REALITY
Abstract
Introduction: Health Ministry proposes the Family Health Strategy (FHS) as a way to develop work processes capable of establishing a new relationship between health professionals and community, based on humanized, hierarchized and intersectoral actions, technically skilled and socially appropriated. However, there is a series of conditions involving teams’ work process that difficult and make vulnerable that process. Objective: To analyze nurses’ work process in the FHS, identifying potentialities and fragilities in care promotion to users. Methodology: This is an exploratory case study with qualitative approach and theoretical concept mark as hermeneutic dialectic perspective. Family Health Units from Alto do Mateus (João Pessoa-PB) were considered as empiric fields, and nurses working at FHS as individuals chosen to the study. Results: Nurses’ work process revealed itself as a field of contradictions and conflicts, in which although some potentialities were recognized, more fragilities were found, what compromises care production and requires investigation. Conclusion: It was verified that prescript work and real work differs from each other and that nurses perform activities beyond what is stated in the rules. On the other hand, they do not perform some tasks considered incoherent with the real demands of care. It was also revealed limitation of awareness on the work process involving such workers, what may identify either incomprehension of technical terms that characterize the work process or alienation related to that.
