Abstract

This article intends to report an experience of a psychologist in a Multidisciplinary Residency in Family and Community Health in the city of Joao Pessoa, State of Paraiba. To that end, it was developed an experience report based on data recorded in a diary and field observations made by the psychologist during the period of residence. Results showed that it was possible to contribute to the teams through an interdisciplinary approach, with brief individual consultations, discussions and cases follow-ups, liaison and actions on the field, which allowed specialist orientation and some changes in the teams’ work process. The difficulties were related to discontinuities in some cases follow-up, absence in the unit for internships during residency, and to overload and distance from psychotherapy secondary services. The experience points out the need for insertion of psychology in the family healthcare beyond its traditional individual and clinical practices, as well as for promoting ways to systematize experiences that allow the exchange with other similar experiences. DESCRIPTORS: Psychology. Health Family. Internship and Residency.
