Results: 91.1% of respondents considered that the media contribute to the formation of opinions about the SUS; 88.9% associate the reports conveyed to a reality that is seen as national and more than half of people (58.9%) believe that the media tends to direct the society so that it stands in doubt regarding the quality of the SUS. Conclusion: the media is observed has the power to shape with their stories, the viewers view on certain subjects, extending this influence to all classes and socioeconomic levels. Regarding the SUS, the images passed by communicative means incite frequent pessimistic criticism and that, however, compromises the effectiveness of the system as a sphere of social participation.
