THE FITOTHERAPY IN THE BASIC NET OF HEALTH: THE GLANCE OF THE NURSING
Abstract
Objective: This study evaluates the Nursing professional’s knowledge about Fitotherapy and the difficulties found for implementation of that therapeutics in the Family Health Units. Material and Methods: This is an exploratory-descriptive study, with quanti-qualitative approach. The population of this study was composed of nursing professionals that work in the Family Health Program of the Sanitary District III of the municipal district of João Pessoa-PB. Results: The results revealed that it’s still insufficient the Nurses’ knowledge on Fitotherapy, what was considered one of the main obstacles found by them for implementing Fitotherapy in the Family Health Program. Conclusion: The problem of the Nursing professionals’ training makes us rethink the role of health staff face to its power to intervene in Primary Care. It’s needed to encourage the importance of complementary therapies from the training process of these professionals so they can guide the population to participate in health care using paths experienced by the community. To this end, it’s needed to rescue the knowledge that involves and ensures the use of medicinal plants through the implementation of Herbal Medicine in Primary Care Health Network.Downloads
