CHALLENGES IN CARING OF CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE IN PRIMARY HEALTH CARE UNITS IN A CITY IN THE STATE OF CEARÁ

Abstract

OBJECTIVE: The study analyzed the health care of diabetics and hypertensive patients regarding the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of RDC monitored in Primary Health Care Units in the municipality of Tauá, Ceará. METHODOLOGY: It was about studying a descriptive case with a qualitative approach, in which they participated 27 informants, including health professionals from PHC Units; CKD patients on Renal Replacement Therapy diagnosed with Diabetes Mellitus and / or Hypertension and professionals connected to the management of local health care. The data were collecteds by conducting individual interviews and analyzed by thematic analysis. RESULTS: It was found flaws in the organization of assistance to diabetic and hypertensive patients, both in PHC and your relation with Specialized Care, standing out in the lack of tests and consultations, especially in nephrology; absence of counter-reference; weakened bond and low adherence to multiprofessional treatment, including patients with CKD. The need for Permanent Education on the Management of the DRC within PHC was also highlighted. CONCLUSION: It is necessary to model and implement a care line to assist RDC users in the municipality in question.
