Objective: To describe the sociodemographic profile and the prevalence of depressive and anxiety symptoms in adolescents under socio-educational measures. Methods: This is a cross-sectional, analytical study, the population was composed of 61 male adolescents, aged between 10 and 20 years, who had been hospitalized for three months or more. Data collection took place through interviews, in August and September 2020. Sociobiodemographic information was obtained through a structured questionnaire, to investigate depressive and anxiety symptoms, validated questionnaires were used, respectively: Beck Depression Inventory and Beck Inventory of Anxiety. Data were tabulated in Excel and analyzed using Gaphpad Prism v software. 9. Results: The research participants had an average age of 17.6 years, low education, family income between one and three minimum wages and lived in socially vulnerable locations, in violent areas. Related to mental health issues, 63.9% had some degree of depressive symptoms and 32.8% had some degree of anxiety symptoms. In relation to the consumption of illicit drugs, there is a prevalence of marijuana and tobacco use. Conclusion: It was possible to trace the sociodemographic profile of adolescents and verify the existence of depressive and anxiety symptoms. This information can help to intensify health strategies within the socio-educational system, prioritizing health promotion actions, especially mental health.
