Objective: to characterize the cases of violence related to work notified in Alagoas, in the period from 2015 to 2019. Methods: descriptive study with data from the Notification of Injury Information System (Sinan). Results: 446 cases of violence were notified. Teacher of Youth and Adult Education and Nursing Assistant obtained 2,46% of the cases, followed by Street Vendor with 2,24%. The type of psychological/moral violence and physical violence, respectively 28,47% and 26,45%, demonstrated proportional; and the unknown item was the bond/degree of kinship with the attended person most registered 57,9%. Conclusion: The large number of records with items ignored/blank or considered as others, essential to characterize affected workers, made it difficult to better analyze and contributed to the planning of actions directed at worker's health.
