CONTRIBUIÇÕES ICTIOLÓGICAS A FAUNA CONTINENTAL. - I. ESTUDO SOBRE <i>Achirus achirus</i> (LINNÉ, 1758) (PISCES, SOLEIDAE).

Resumo

This paper presents information on the biology of Achirus achirus (Linné, 1758) collected in the Gramame and Paraíba rivers, João Pessoa, Paraíba, Brasil. Measurements of a sample of 51 especimens is provided together with a description of chromatic, meristics and other anatonic characters, including digestive tract. Ecological data are given on polluted enviromentes of A. achirus in the Gramame and Paraíba rivers. The authors sugest further studies to be made on the species.
