ASPECTOS GERAIS SOBRE A ALIMENTAÇÃO DO TIBIRO, <i>Oligoplites palometa</i>, CUVIER, 1831 (PISCES-CARANGIDAE), NO CANAL DE SANTA CRUZ - PERNAMBUCO

Resumo

Studies carried out on stomachal content in Carangidae (Oligoplites palometa) fish, from special catches at Santa Cruz Channel-PE, showed fish, crustaceans and worms in abundance to be the feeding diet of these organisms.
Of less importance, it was found molluscs (bivalves and gastropods), polichaetae and anfioxs in the analysed stomachs.
Of the total organisms examined, it was observed the percentage of 60,2% of males and 39,8% female, and it was observed that it hadn't feeding diversity in relation to sex, size class and time of the year.
The high fish, worms and crustaceans percentage found in Oligoplites palometa
showed a zoofagus feeding habit.
