An Inquiry of Organizational Psychology Courses Profile in Brazil

Abstract

In the capitalist society, the work is one of the most valued activities. There is a mutual relationship between labor, organizations, person and society, that is always in transformation. In this way, studies and surveys in this area are very relevant and the Psychology is very important to speak in the process and relations mentioned above. The education and graduation of the psychologist are the basis for his action and the Universities have to be always updated to graduate people that could act in the different psychology areas. For this reason, is important to study the Organizational Psychology area and our initiative to do a Survey of Organizational Psychology Courses Profile in Brazil, with the aim to show the scope, coverage and other details of this courses. To hit this aim this study was structured in the follow way. The first section give a brief history of the evolution of the concept of work, demonstrating its important relationship with psychology, as a constituent of the human being. The second section describes the Labor Psychology origins in the Brazilian and international canary, flow by the section third that point the actuation fields of this area. The four section presents a description of the current situation of courses in Organizational Psychology and Labor in Brazil, presenting the content of Universities, the subjects studied and its national scope. A critical analysis is carried out in section fifth, pointing to the Brazilian legal aspects of discipline and presenting a comparison of in Brazil and abroad. Section sixth brings the Final Considerations.
