PATTERNS OF INDUSTRIAL SPECIALIZATION: EVIDENCES FOR THE ECONOMY CEARENSE FROM THE DATA RAIS

Abstract

After a change in the mode of regulation of the executive and implementing a policy of tax exemption to attract industrial investments, Ceara live a new industry standard, presenting prominent economic growth rates based on that sector. In this context, the research examined the conditions in which it operates industrial activity in Ceará, seeking to identify patterns of location / specialization. To do this, use was made of a methodological framework that consists in calculating the Location Gini index  - to identify classes of industries with a high degree of geographical concentration of production - and Quotient Location - to identify local production systems. It is noted that the industry of the state is fairly concentrated spatially furthermore regions Cariri and Fortaleza stand for presenting a diverse regional structure with a high QL for various classes of industries.
