SPATIAL DISTRIBUTION OF INDUSTRIAL EMPLOYMENT IN THE NORTHEAST: 2000-2009

Abstract

This essay aims to detach the impacts of the productive restructuring about the industrial labor market of the Northeast (2000-2009), focusing in the spatial desconcentration of the employment. The data about employment were obtained in MTE (RAIS). These were treated according methodology used by spatial analysis to detection of clusters of employment. The results indicate displacements of the employment, mainly, inside the own states, with losses of participation of the capitals. We conclude that the dinamization of the labor market this sector requires improvements in the infrastructure to reinforce the towards spatial desconcentration, in addition to policies aimed at reducing qualification and wage inequalities.
