Abstract

Only starting from the decade of 1980 it is that the most evident effects of a new capital-intensive agriculture and based on technology began to appear in Brazil.The participation ofa new agriculture-industrial section in the national and internationalmarket felt, through programs of irrigated agriculture, a typical example ofthis situation is the state ofRio Grande do Norte that has been developied as a poleof expansion of the irrigated agriculture, joined to the agro-industries processors,especially in the Pole of Irrigated horticulture in Açu, and Mossoró. thus, this researchaims at writing, in summary, aboutthe irrigated agriculture in the northeast, aswell as, the horticulture irrigated in RN, and the impacts provoked by the process ofagricultural modernization in the "world ofthe work". To accomplish this work, abibliographical research was accomplished, based on authors as: Silva, Araújo andClementino, among others. The fact is that the implemention ofmodern technologyin the irrigated agriculture of A valley provoked a series of innovations in theproduction structure, also modifying the work relationships. With the installation ofagro-industries companies, mainly after the 90s, the new paradigm ofwork organizationand the production process, it places the professional subject and the contentofthe so called qualification in new discussion points.
