Abstract

ln reason of the rise of unemployment, the worry about this phenomenon is rising in different areas of scientific knowledge. However, the results of these studies havebeen under of the necessary adoption of effecti ve social policy, in part because thelack of integration between related Sciences in the studies about the unemploymentphenomenon. In this perspective, this study was realized trying to integrate twoareas of Social Science (Psychology and Economic) with the objective to presentthe psychological impacts of unemployment and the consequences in the labourmarket. For that, this study was structured in the foIlowing way: on session two theauthors try to show the valorization of the worker role for the society and the importanceof this for the construction of the individual identity; the session three revealthe consequences of unemployment in the worker psychological health; the sessionfour try to present how the unemployment impacts affect the search of work and thelabour market. ln the final session, s ns are made on chances in the supply, demand and labor market equilibrium, and about policies that can be adoptwith the two areas involved in this study.
