AS OCUPAÇOES BRASILEIRAS SEGUNDO A CBO 2002: CARACTERIZAÇÃO EMPíRICA COM BASE NO CENSO 2000

Abstract

This paper presents empirical evidences based on 2000 Demographic Census to describe quantitative figures of the brazilian occupations profile, as its defined on the 2002 Classificação Brasileira de Ocupações. The text begins presenting the changes that have been operated in data collecting and coding information on occupations and other economic variables over the Demographic Census executed in 1960 through 2000, discussing also the potential problems that may be raised to harmonized those variavles over time. Then, for each one of the occupational group registered in 2000 Census, the paper presents several indicators on income, formal education, social economic status and also measures on the occupational vulnerability in labor market. This paper aims to contribute as a methodological tool to investigate changes on brazilian occupational structure and also on trends of specific groups of occupations over the last decades, as microdata of Census and other surveys are becoming easier to computer processing.
