Abstract

This article proposes to analyze the association of agricultural work and the extraction of kaolin ore. We take as a case study of the municipality Junco Seridó in Paraíba. The research was based on qualitative methodology through direct observation and interviews with miners, middlemen and rural families. As complementary techniques were applied 34 questionnaires among miners in office. The research results show that the association between agricultural work and mining not only sets due to differences in the production cycles of the two activities, but also involves a form of work organization familiar with the differentiations of the work of the household head, his wife and sons and daughters.
