Abstract

This article intends to discuss the Payment of Environmental Services (PES) to recyclable material cooperatives, for the better income of these workers. Observing the activities of the waste collectors of ASMARE and of RECICLAMP, in terms of their income and the organization of the work process, it is possible to relativize the notion that this type of business predominantly creates a mechanism for the management of poverty. The development of self-management processes will also be discussed in this article, because while a fostering policy to the Solidarity Economy, the Law 12.305/2010 seems to point not only to the economic structure of the Solidary Economic Enterprises in the recycling area, but also advances to a reconfiguration of its form of insertion in the Brazilian recycling industrial field, with a possible impact on the organization of collective work inside businesses.
