Abstract

Vacaria-RS is the largest individual producer of apples in Brazil and this production is in a modelo of large scale, highly technical and export oriented. The modernity of sectors like this contrasts with the vulnerability experienced by brazilian rural workers, despite the guarantees of labor legislation. In this context, the objective of this work is to analyze the process of construction of labor rights of rural workers in Vacaria-RS with the help of work-related institutions and evaluate the effects of the Labor Reform of 2017 on this process. For this, we started from the theories of Castel and Bourdieu and analyzed primary and secondary data. Thus, we find that the joint action of the Union of Rural Workers, the Public Ministry of Labor and Labor Justice ensured a network of protection of rural workers and that the Labor Reform 2017 sought to empty these institutions.
