A CRIAÇÃO DA CATAMUNDAÚ NO BAIRRO VERGEL DO LAGO-MACEIÓ- AL: A CRISE DO COVID-19 E A ECONOMIA SOLIDÁRIA COMO COMBATE À VULNERABILIDADE.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic arrived in Brazil in a context of low growth performance, little space for carrying out fiscal and monetary policies, which had a negative impact on the social aspect. The social context in the period was characterized by a fall in production, an increase in unemployment and vulnerability. Thus, the objective of this article is to study how cooperativism presents itself as a possibility of overcoming the situation of vulnerability with the creation of Catamundaú in the Vergel do Lago-Maceió-AL neighborhood. The methodology used corresponds to the “action research” applied by the Social Technology Incubator (FEAC-UFAL), using categories of analysis: underdevelopment, vulnerability and solidarity economy. We can observe that in the Vergel do Lago neighborhood in Maceió, the Catamundaú Association, which carries out selective collection on the spot, presents itself as a way of building a social practice that has solidarity and cooperation at its center, generating the possibility of work and income.
