Abstract

The central aim of this article is to analyse the overexploitation of platformized work and its impact on the production of suffering and mental exhaustion in male and female workers, with a focus on app drivers and couriers. To this end, the research methodology adopted includes a narrative literature review and the analysis of primary data from a mixed study, with an emphasis on the qualitative approach. The subsequent discussion will address working conditions in Brazil, with special attention to the concept of overexploitation, and the analysis of platformized work in the Brazilian context. Subsequently, research results will be presented which show the impact of work on the production of suffering and wear and tear on the mental health of drivers and delivery drivers in the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre - RS. The results show that the characteristics of the overexploitation of platformized work contribute to the production or intensification of such manifestations in workers.
