Abstract

Objective: To report cases of female workers from the meatpacking sector, focusing on the production of technical evidence to address the underreporting of occupational diseases. Methods: This study presents two qualitative case reports based on the care provided by teams from the Federal Universities of Santa Catarina (UFSC) and Uberlândia (UFU). Standardized forms, semi-structured interviews, clinical assessments, and the preparation of technical-scientific reports, expert opinions, and accident notifications (CATs) were used. Results: The cases involve workers from the same meatpacking group, reporting musculoskeletal illnesses related to physical overload, intense pace, and lack of rest breaks. Both faced company resistance regarding CAT issuance, rejection of medical certificates, and disregard for expert reports. The project’s actions led to the issuance of forensic documents and referrals to the Social Security system, supporting legal and administrative proceedings. Conclusion: Specific projects for workers' health are essential in the face of institutional negligence, making illnesses visible and guaranteeing rights that hide health problems.
