Abstract

This work aims to render problematic the conditions of formation and actuation of students on non-mandatory internships on the Santa Catarina’s National University (UFSC) and to produce a scenery of its inherent precariousness. Our hypothesis talks about the articulation between youth, labour, professional formation and assistance as a condition that legitimate the precariousness of labour and formation. The methodology develops a quantitative analysis of official data, from the Department of Academic and Professional Integration (DIP/UFSC), considering the period of 2008 to 2014. Aspects such as the legislation about internships, national and university specific, are evaluated through qualitative analysis. The results points to the centrality of labour in the articulation between assistance, formation and labour and also the amplitude in the use of the internship as a mean of appropriation of labour in adverse conditions, made legit by the necessity of assistance to students, what develops a paradox on politics that try to articulate formation, labour and assistance.
