Abstract

This article has as main objective to analyze traditional songs, in order to observe how the image of the black is (des)constructed in this sort of popular literature. For this, a corpus consisting of five plays was used. Of these, four focus the feminine being and the other refers to the masculine being. Characterizations of ideological nature, present in the texts, had emerged from the analysis. It is emphasized the ideology of ethnic segregation that inside this playful representation, because, even being sung and represented by children, it permits to be transparent a discriminatory and prejudiced vision on the black man and woman.
