Abstract

The purpose of the present study was to reflect on the narratives of UFT LGBTQ+ academics regarding their stories of in/exclusion throughout their schooling process. We start from the assumption that understanding their life and education histories will help us to give more visibility and comprehension about the treatment/respect/acceptance regarding the hostilities suffered in their life trajectories. For this, the data were generated from semi-structured interviews carried out in the first semester of 2015. The research outlined here is of a qualitative approach, of an interdisciplinary nature and of an investigative method of oral history, with semiotics being one of its aspects, the sociosemiotic, employed as theoretical support for the analysis of the reports. In this perspective, we were interested in the meanings that the subjects attribute to their experience, considering how they do it when narrating the experience. With this work, we were able to realize that the call to education must be a top priority, it is from it that the hope of more progressive days in more liberating dimensions of human conscience arises.
