It seeks to analyze links between Globo's business interests, journalists' work and coverage of the 2020 Campeonato Carioca by ge.globo. The tournament was marked by a judicial dispute by Grupo Globo against the Flamengo over the broadcasting of games after the publication of Provisional Measure 984/2020 by the presidency of Brazil. We use to the Political Economy of Communication to explain the relationships between market barriers that generate concentration in the communication markets, the working conditions of journalists and the journalistic coverage of Campeonato Carioca. We work from Content Analysis and Critical Discourse Analysis for data collection and analysis.
