O ensino e aprendizagem de trombone na UFPB: um estudo de caso The applied trombone instruction and its apprenticeship at Universidade Federal da Paraíba: a case study

Resumo: Este trabalho apresenta os resultados da pesquisa realizada no curso de licenciatura em música, finalizada em 2013. O tema estudado foi o ensino de trombone numa escola especializada. Buscou-se compreender como se deu o processo de ensino-aprendizagem em classes de trombone dos cursos superiores de música da Universidade Federal da Paraíba (UFPB) orientadas pelo professor Sandoval Moreno. É adotada a premissa do professor como um facilitador, aquele que detém a capacidade de identificar o potencial musical em seu aluno. Foram realizadas as seguintes etapas metodológicas: revisão bibliográfica, observação do professor e de 3 (três) alunos nas disciplinas de trombone dos cursos superiores de musica, aplicação de questionários e entrevistas semiestruturadas, e acompanhamento de atividades afins. Concluiu-se que o professor deve estar atento às principais características e peculiaridades dos alunos, sabendo que cada aluno pode reagir de diferentes maneiras aos diferentes estímulos.

Abstract: This article presents the results of research performed as a partial fulfillment to the Degree of Music Education and Performance Practices in Trombone concluded during the Fall of 2013. This study aimed to comprehend the process of teaching and learning the trombone in classes oriented by Professor Sandoval Moreno at college level at the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB). Knowing that, "[...] it is up to this teacher, among its many roles, to be the facilitator of the learning process, with the ability to identify the musical potential in his student [...]" (HARDER, 2008: 43). To achieve this, the following procedures have been applied: literature reviews, observing three (3) students enrolled in private lessons and seminars. There were questionnaires and semi-structured interviews made for both applied instructor and the students, following up all related activities, and an analysis of the collected material as well. It has been concluded that the applied instructor should pay attention for the individual characteristics and peculiarities of the students, knowing that each one of them may react differently to different stimuli.
