Results: from the articulation of different concepts in the literature, an integrative definition about Academic Analytics is presented. Managerial stages and challenges in the development of analytical intelligence in HEI is also discussed, including dimensions such as leadership, data governance, culture and people, politics, ethics and technology. Academic and practical contributions: the idiosyncrasy of the context, the lens of the socio-technical approach, and the perspective focused on management allow a systemic and practical view about the subject. It is also expected that managers and institutional leaders of HEIs, as well as researchers, can take the reflections as a starting point for projects in the organizational and academic scope that involve the development of their analytical skills.
