Information For Authors
Guidelines for authors
In the first page, the work must contain: the title in Portuguese and English; the abstract in Portuguese and the abstract in English, containing between 150 and 250 words (for each language), followed by a minimum of three and a maximum of five keywords, and the beginning of the text;
The abstract (and the translations) must be presented in a structured way, separating the rhetorical movements as follows (all mandatory): a) Objectives of the study; b) Design / methodology / approach; c) Main results; d) Academic contributions; e) Practical contributions;
All text must be entered in A4 format, Cambria font, size 12. Long citations and illustrations (tables, charts and figures) must use Cambria font size 10, in the language of the article;
The illustrations of the text must be editable, except in cases of real impossibility;
Spacing must be simple between characters, words and lines, and indenting the first line of 1 cm for regular paragraphs and 2 cm for long quotations;
Margins should be be: superior - 3 cm; bottom, left and right - 2 cm;
Citations, illustrations and bibliographic references must be those of the American Psychological Association - APA, in its most current version;
The writing can be in first or third person;
The content must be semantically intelligible grammatically correct, and the article may be rejected due to poor text quality, regardless of content;
The following limits are defined, according to the thematic section:
Data Science in Debate: between 4000 and 8000 words;
Data Science in Education: between 3000 and 6000 words;
Data Science in Scientific Research: between 4000 and 8000 words;
Data Science and Solutions: between 3000 and 5000 words;
Data Science and Open Source: between 3000 and 5000 words.
Structure suggested by thematic section
Data Science in Debate: Titles (Portuguese, Spanish and English), Abstract, Keywords, Resumen, Palabras clave, Abstract, Keywords; Introduction; Numbered parts of the argumentative construction (the authors define the model, at their discretion); Final considerations; References.
Data Science in Education: Titles (Portuguese, Spanish and English), Abstract, Keywords, Resumen, Palabras clave, Abstract, Keywords; Content text, with numbering (the authors define the model, at their discretion); Notes or guidelines for teaching, containing (for example): Teaching objectives, Suggestions for use, Questions for discussion, Theoretical guide for the use of the content / tool, References.
Data Science in Scientific Research: Titles (Portuguese, Spanish and English), Abstract, Keyword, Resumen, Palabras clave, Abstract, Keywords and article content, with numbering: Introduction; Theoretical review; Method; Results; Theoretical and practical implications; Final considerations; References.
Data Science and Solutions: Titles (Portuguese, Spanish and English), Abstract, Keyword, Resumen, Palabras clave, Abstract, Keywords, article content, with numbering: Introduction; Context of the investigated reality; Diagnosis of the problem situation; Analysis of the problem situation; Proposal or description of the intervention; Conclusions and technological and social contributions.
Data Science and Open Source: Titles (Portuguese, Spanish and English), Abstract, Keyword, Resumen, Palabras-clave, Abstract, Keywords; Justification; Description of the data; Tool description (including usage example); Social impacts achieved and / or predicted; References. For this format, authors must include the data linked to the journal's git-hub account.
