RECOVERY AND PRESERVATION OF faveleira (C. quercifolius) DESENOVLVIMENTO FOR SUSTAINABLE BRAZILIAN SEMIARID

The Brazilian semiarid savana biome is in an example of adaptation to changes in water supply. This study aims to understand the socio economics and environmental opportunities offered by faveleira, endemic species, to be exploited as dryland farming areas in process of desertification. To carry out the work were understood contained publications in books and articles on this xerophytes written in the last 38 years. Enriched the information of the manuscript field studies conducted by the authors, with the population in rural areas with the presence of this xerophilous. Among the references that supported the manuscript 30 are results of research works that have been performed pointing resilience of this plant with soil and climatic conditions of the region, with the fauna and the wild flora, in food and their animals as herbal, lumberjack product, in power generation, as well as studies focused on spreading. All parts of this plant are utilized. Presents relevance in maintaining wildlife, other species of flora that develops under his canopy, rehabilitation of degraded areas as well as relevant in food, animals, production of medicines, as lumberjack product and power generation.Downloads
