The discursion in this work aims contribute with the geography scholar discipline in the Brazilian scenery under a historic perspective using textbooks as primary research font. Studies from this perspective have prioritized a different look on the sources and historical productions, opening an opportunity to plunge into the teaching geography intricacies along its diversified theoretical-methodological trajectory. In the period between the XIX and early XX centuries, we noticed the establishment of important reforms on the geography teaching, under the assumptions of a scientific and modern school discipline, mainly, from the intuitive method through the lessons of things. On the other hand, our analyzes point to the existence of a geography teaching practice guided by a movement of changes and permanencies.Downloads
