Abstract

This essay discusses the policy of the government of Michel Temer, in the period of August 2016 and April 2018, regarding the recognition of the territorial rights of indigenous peoples. In this sense, the measures taken by Temer's government strengthen the State's omission and the continuation of violations against indigenous peoples, in order to aggravate the situation of violence and vulnerability to which their communities are exposed. The cases of Indigenous Lands of Jaraguá in São Paulo, and Tekoha Guasu Guavirá in Paraná, will be presented, illustrating the practical effects of the current government's commitment to the political and economic agenda of agribusiness.
