Abstract

The political use of the publishing of statistics emerges parallel to its own development. Brazil assimilates the French lesson and the Brazilian court makes criminal statistics in the context of its bureaucracy. The article understands how the circulation of technics and institutions works, as well as the social consequences for slaves, libertos, poor whites and Indians. The technics of discipline and power will be assimilated inside the Empire. It means to assure the domain of rural and urban lords.
