ABSTRACT: Technological advances have provided a new way of looking and reflecting on what is in the world, influencing all areas of everyday life, even with regard to the school environment. The 21st century student is at all times in contact with new technologies, as well as movies, series, etc. Parallel to this, the school, sometimes attached to traditional didactics, ends up causing disinterest of the students. The work, then, aims to offer a proposal that makes this bridge between the student and the classroom, for this was chosen the anime genre, especially the film The Grave of the Fireflies that promotes a series of problems to be reflected during the period of the Second World War II. The research methodology occurred by observing the use of repetitions within Japanese animation and how these build the central argumentation of the plot. To understand more broadly, koch and elias (2017), Carvalho (2018) on the repetitions and role they play was used, as well as the reflection on anime provided by Barbosa (2018). Thus, by reflecting and analyzing about the anime genre, how it can be effective in the classroom and the importance of the cohesive elements present, highlighting the repetition, it is concluded that using genres close to students in the classroom promotes discussions and brings the protagonism for the student. KEYWORDS: Repeat. Classroom. Anime genre.
