Objective: This research aimed to investigate the quality of life of amputee athletes. Method: Male athletes participated in the research (n=31), with mean and standard deviation (SD) of 32 ± 7.6 years of age in four modalities: soccer for amputees (n=16); sitting volleyball (n=9); wheelchair basketball (n=5) and parabadminton (n=2). All answered the anamnesis and the quality-of-life questionnaire WHOQOL-BREF. The normality of the data was verified by the Shapiro-Wilk test and the comparisons between three or more groups divided by the modality practiced was performed by Anova One-Way; the comparison between two groups was performed using the student's t test for independent samples. Results: The highest quality of life score was related to physical domain among the modalities (78.8 ± 11.6). No significant differences were found between athletes with different practice times for the physical (P=0.926), psychological (P=0.382), social (P=0.505) and environmental (P=0.153) domains. Conclusion: Therefore, the regular practice of parasports has been beneficial in the quality of life of amputees regardless of the modality.
