BIOLOGIA DE <i>Triantoma brasiliensis</i> NEIVA, 1911 (HEMIPTERA, REDUVIDAE, TRIATOMINAE), III - ALIMENTAÇÃO, DESENVOLVIMENTO BIOLÓGICO E MUDA EM LARVAS DE 5° ESTÁDIO

Resumo

In T. brasiliensis a correlation does exist at least in the eight first days, when we consider the weight just after molt and that observed in moment which meal is offered.

The lost of weight in the 3 groups in the experiment was 15,46 mg, that corresponds to 17,2% of the insect weight after molting. Molt in T. brasiliensis depends on the quantity of blood ingested. Ecdysis in only realized when insects ingested about 2 or 3 times their own weight in blood; this is obtained in a single meal. With several meals the ratio of 12 in observed and 100% of the insects moit.

Males and females larvae have a different behavior concerning to meal and molting. With a sibgle meal 30,43% of the female population realized molting against only 8,1% of males.

Males intermolt time is greater than that of females. We observe that the most of insects, 69,7%, molt between 19 and 25 days after each meal.
