UTILIZAÇÃO DE RESÍDUOS DO MILHO-PIPOCA (ZEA MAYS L.) EM RAÇÕES PARA PÓS-LARVA DO CAMARÃO MARINHO LITOPENAEUS VANNAMEI BOONE, 1931 (PENAEIDAE)
Resumo
Six diets were used to test the growth of post-larvae of the marine shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei. Corn (M) and popcorn by-products (P) worked best for this purpose. The diets were tested in the following proportions: 25 and 0% (M25P0), 20 and 5% (M20P5), 15 and 10% (M15P10), 10 and 15% (M10P15), 5 and 20% (M5P20) and 0 and 25% (M0P25). The post-larval growth study was carried out in 18 aquaria of 50 liters each, equipped with a biological filtration system. The same diet was used in each three aquaria. The stocking density was 20 post-larval / 0.125 m2 and the shrimps ware fed daily (8:00am and 4:00pm) with 10% of shrimp total biomass. The water physico-chemical parameters were measured weekly and biometry was done every 15 days. The best post-larval growth rates were observed in the treatments M10P15 and M15P10. These treatments did not show significant differences (P>0.05). The diet M0P25 did not show significant differences at the feed conversion rate, but presented the best biomass gain, indicating that the corn can be totally replaced by the popcorn by-products in diets for L. vannamei post-larvae. The popcorn by-products can be used as an ingredient in diets for L. vannamei post-larval based on feed conversion rate and availability.
