Abstract

ABSTRACT

Estuarine and maine shore fishes were collected in Paraíba (NE Brazil), a poorly known area of the Western Atlantic.

A check list of 141 species from 58 families is presented. Common names and localities are included for each species.

New records for the area are Halichoeres maculipinna (Müller & Troschel) and Porichthys kymosemeum Gilbert.
