NEW RECORDS AND MORPHOLOGIC DATA OF <i>Porichthys kymosemeum</i> GILBERT FOR THE COAST OF BRASIL (PISCES:BATRACHOIDEDAE)

Resumo

The batrachoidid fish Porichlhys kymosemeum Gilbert, 1968 was previously known only from the holotype, taken oft Amapá, Brazil, and from a second specimen reported from Cabedelo, State of Paraíba, Brazil. Ten additional specimens were obtained from two other localities in northeastern Brazil. Additional morphologic, morphometry and meristic data are provided for the species, and its geographic range record is extended ca. 1,400 km from the type locality.
