ESTUDO DA SOBREVIVÊNCIA E DA CAPACIDADE DE ISOLAMENTO DE <i>Mytella guyanensis</i> (MOLLUSCA-BIVALVIA) EM DIFERENTES SALINIDADES

Resumo

Survival and the capacity for isolation in Mytella guyanensis were investigated in organisms submitted to different salinities. Experiments during 408 hours indicated that M. guyanensis is a marine euryhaline organism, which survives well over a broad range of salinities. In progressively diluted salinities, the perivisceral fluid took longer to reach an equilibrium with the test media. A partial isolation mechanism is assumed to occur in reaction to hypo-osmotic media.
