Abstract

Thomas A. DuBois is the Halls-Bascom Professor of Scandinavian Folklore, Folklore, and Religious Studies at the Department of German, Nordic and Slavic (University of Wisconsin–Madison). He is editor of the Folklore of the Nordic-Baltic Region series, published by the Welsh Academic Press, and the author of books such as: Songs of the Finnish Migration: A Bilingual Anthology (co-edited with B. Marcus Cederström, 2019), Sacred to the Touch: Nordic and Baltic Religious Wood Carving (2017), Nordic Literature: A Comparative History. Volume 1 (Co-edited with Steven P.
