The Dossier of this edition of SAECULUM – Revista de História (2025), composed of four articles articulating gender violence, intersectionality and justice, aimed to shed light on research focused on the most diverse markers of gender and violence, and to show how they can contribute to debates on contemporary themes linked to historiography. Since the second half of the 20th century, the gender approach aligned with Justice has freed research from the restrictions of a positivist and reproductivist history, supporting new methodologies for thinking about the various forms of sexist and gender violence in a trans and interdisciplinary way, consolidating the field of gender studies, feminist theories and sexualities in Brazil.
