Abstract

The approval in Brazil of the laws n. 13.429 – which changed provisions of the law on temporary work in urban enterprises – and n. 13.467 – which changed the Brazilian Consolidation of Labor Laws (CLT) – aimed the promotion of the flexibilization of the labor laws, based on the arguments about the necessity to modernize the CLT to adapt it into the current scenario of competitiveness in the labor market and also to the new conditions of the capital-labor relations. Since those changes in the labor laws – so called Brazilian Labor Reform -  was approved both in 2017, any observations on the effects of the reform so far would be preliminary and inconclusive. Based on these observations, this paper proposes a methodology to monitoring the effects of the reform in the formal labor market in Brazil, identifying the results in the medium and long term.
