Abstract

In times of covid-19 pandemic, the health recommendation to “stay at home” seems to reorganize relationships, times and spaces. We experience the extraordinary never before experienced. The house gains centrality in life and relationships, housing practically all the activities of people who remain in isolation. One must ask, however, how much is ordinary in the routine of academic women who are mothers during this period, since the equation between home, children and work is common to them. It seems to us that the pandemic gives visibility to inequalities in activities related to care, impacting much more on the career of these women than that of men or women without children. The mental burden, the impossibility of negotiating with children the time and space for academic production, maternal tiredness and their mental health are some of the ordinary questions now open and that need to be debated.
