Abstract

The phenomenon of violence against women, in the Brazilian scenario, is still very present. In this pandemic context, with the proliferation of the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), health agencies encourage people to stay in their homes. On the other hand, it is noticed that there was an increase in the number of registered cases, because people started to be more often in domestic spaces. A contradiction then arises: how to follow measures of social distance when the domestic environment itself poses a risk of violence? The protection space becomes a place of danger for women. It is around this problem that this article is inserted, in which we seek to provide some reflections about the situation, thinking also about black, lesbian, bisexual and trans women. In addition, pondering the level of responses to the problem, we present some coping strategies that have been emerging in Brazil both in public and private context.
