Economical viability of tucumã meal in diets for broilers

Abstract

This study aimed to analyzethe economical availableof tucumã meal inclusion in diets for broilers. The experimental periodlasted 42 days(Initial –1 to 21 days; Growth –22 to 33 days and Termination –34 to 42 days).192 broilers Cobb 500 were used. The tucumã meal was used how an energy source in the diets. The experimental design was completely randomized in split plot with six levels of tucumã meal (0, 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25%) and fourreplicates of eight birds each.Data collected were submitted to polynomial regression analysis.Differences were observed(P<0.05) in feed conversion, slaughter weight, productive efficiency index (PEI), gross added value and profitability index, obtaining better results from the alternative food inclusion. It was concluded that the tucumã meal can be used asalternative food in diets for broilersat 15% without cause negative changes in performance and production costs.Economically, up to 20% of inclusion, there was a decrease in feed intake, feed conversion and improvement in slaughter weight and production efficiency index.
