Abstract

This paper analyses a recent initiative of journalistic production made possible by the scope and possibilities of communication on the web, based upon the perspective of the limits and confluence expectations between journalism and blogs. With the case study of the PE BodyCount site, an electronic murders counter in the state of Pernambuco, this text aims to draw a parallel between news gathering, the use of subjectivity by the reporter and the blog as a catalyst and facilitator of journalistic investigation and dissemination of news. The analysis covers the blog ́s formation process and aims to put light into the uses that newspapermen find when getting in touch with new tools. The theoretical apparatus used to dialogue with the object consists of Theories of Journalism, Ciberculture and Ethics.
