Abstract

This study analyzes the enunciative strategies used to construct the sensationalist discourse in the comic book Sin City: O Assassino Amarelo, by Frank Miller. The structure of this paper consists of an approach to concepts such as comics and sensationalism, followed by an analysis of elements of seduction such as the layout of the book cover, its colors, the construction of the hero, the richness of details, the exploitation of emotions, the cult of violence, and the language of the narrative. The comic book makes a connection with the aspirations of society, narrating the story of a policeman who fights tirelessly to save the life of a young woman, personifying the ideal hero that overcomes any adversity to get what he wants.
