Abstract

This paper discusses briefly some of the main ideas of the French philosopher Jacques Rancière, especially the ones related to cinema. The issue of apparatus and narrative occupies the first section of the text, and, in the second, takes place a reflection on the cinematic image and its configuration in the aesthetic regime of art proposed by Rancière. Through a literature review, we intend to contribute to a more effective understanding of Rancière’s thought, as well to point out similarities and differences in relation to other important authors in the field of film theory.
