Abstract

This articleaims to highlight a critique ontheWestern society of the late twentieth century through Korine’s movie Gummo. Therefore, we use concepts ofNietzschein order to approachthe film speechesandthe philosopher’s moral critique onWestern man’s way of life. Weused discourse analysis to explain the discursive construction of the audiovisual text and the effects of meaning from thisconstruction. The critiquehighlighted inthis article:the lack of will to power, the last man and the resentment in the post-modern context on which the film is inserted.
