Abstract

This paper aims to show how a thematic hotel, inaugurated by the British artist Banksy in 2017, on the centenary of the Baflour’s Declaration, articulates memory, activist art and aesthetic experience for creating bonds, generating senses and sharing meanings about Israeli-Palestine conflict. The Semiotics of Culture and the notions of communicational environments are the references used to understand the operation of the hotel’s Semiotic Mechanism and the communicative processes established in it through artistic language.
